A New Day

Thanks to Pastor Jan Schmitt I’ve been hooked on the book of Romans lately. By the way, that woman can bring it! I find it amazing that as Paul wrote to the Romans they were doing and going through the same stuff we are today. Ah, what a human race! In chapter 2 he really is getting after us. He says in verse 5, “But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.”

I’m an exhorter, I don’t like corrective scripture, I focus on stuff like, “Phil 1:4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy. Oh yes, I like hanging out in the joy of the Lord. Joy, joy, joy! Sometimes God makes me visit and revisit correction and that dirty word, discipline. So, if I have to you might as well visit with me.

I’m surrounded by nice. The city of Kingman is “nice”. Everyone is so kind. Paul doesn’t seem so nice. He’s pretty bossy!

So I ask the question, what is going on in our “impenitent hearts”? Not only are we unrepentant we have things in our hearts that we refuse to do anything about. We just leave it as it is, it’s easier that way. Don’t talk about it, it’s not nice. I’m not pointing fingers, I’m shaking it right back at myself. Today, I’m searching my impenitent heart, making changes. Come on, come clean!! Tiptoe into the world of correction and change your mind. There is certainly joy in that adventure.

This was going to be the blog I displayed the pictures of my house, it turned into something different. Stay tuned! Well, I’m off to a new day. Change seems to be a recurrent theme, I’m going to keep

moving with it.

Thanks again Jan!
